AS Roma conceded two late goals to fall behind 3-2 to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The result extends a pattern of fragility for the Italian club, which dropped a 3-1 lead to Real Madrid last month. Gian Piero Gasperini’s team now sits with four points from four league phase matches. Their next fixture is a difficult away trip to Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.

Manchester United, meanwhile, secured its first win of the phase to halt a losing streak. Manager Michael Carrick’s side now faces a demanding schedule, including visits to Sporting CP and Villarreal, as well as home games against RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich. The Red Devils will enter the November international break with a clearer perspective on their standing.

Atletico Madrid occupies a similar position in the middle of the table. Diego Simeone’s squad has lost to Liverpool and Bayern Munich but defeated Manchester United in Madrid. The remaining fixtures for the Spanish club include home and away matches against Viking, PSV, and Bodo/Glimt, followed by a final away leg against Fenerbahce.

Inter Milan has also stabilized after early setbacks. The Nerazzurri lost their first two games to Real Madrid and Club Brugge before winning consecutive matches against Shakhtar and Feyenoord. The 3-0 victory in Rotterdam occurred days after a 3-1 home defeat to AC Milan, a result that cast doubt on Cristian Chivu’s tactics. Inter will next host Stuttgart at San Siro, then travel to Borussia Dortmund, play Liverpool in Milan, and finish the phase against Slavia Prague.

The league phase continues until January, with only the top eight teams qualifying directly for the knockout rounds. Clubs finishing between ninth and 24th will compete in two-legged playoffs in February to secure their place in the next stage.
