Milwaukee Public Schools will close Friday to accommodate a citywide victory parade for the Brewers.

The team secured its first World Series title in 58 years with a 4-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday. The win concluded the series in five games. The parade route travels through downtown Milwaukee and ends at Henry Maier Festival Park near Lake Michigan.

Thousands of fans gathered at the Trop in Tampa, where Brewers supporters outnumbered the home crowd. Additional celebrations occurred in Milwaukee following the final out. One fan who waited for a rally ticket at American Family Insurance Amphitheater reported standing behind 34,000 other people at 8 a.m. on Thursday.

Local authorities are preparing for heavy traffic and large crowds with a significant police presence. Michael Maxwell, a presiding judge in Waukesha County, issued a ruling regarding courtroom attire. He stated that Brewers clothing is in compliance with professional decorum expected of staff, litigants, and attorneys. This ruling remains in effect through the conclusion of the parade.

The celebration marks the end of a 58-year title drought for the small-market franchise. The fan fest at the festival park will serve as the final public event for the weekend.
