All nine dates of the Gnarls Barkley tour have been canceled, including the November 10 performance in Atlanta.
CeeLo Green, the Atlanta-based singer and rapper, was scheduled to tour next month to promote the duo's recent album, “Atlanta.” As of Friday afternoon, Ticketmaster’s website listed every stop on the itinerary as canceled. The schedule had included a November 5 show at the Dream Theater in Washington, D.C., and a November 12 appearance at the same venue.
The cancellation notice on Ticketmaster states that the event organizer made the decision. The site promises that customers do not need to take any action to receive their money back. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method once funds are received from the organizer.
The tour was originally set to begin in October but was pushed to November. The November 12 date at Coca-Cola Roxy was part of a run that included stops in other major cities. The decision to cancel came after the duo had already announced the schedule for the album’s promotion.
Gnarls Barkley consists of CeeLo Green and producer Danger Mouse. The pair won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2007 for their debut record, “St. Elsewhere.” They released their second album, “The Arrow,” in 2010, before taking a long hiatus. The new album, “Atlanta,” marks their return to recording after that gap.
The tour was intended to celebrate the new record and reconnect with fans who have followed the group since the mid-2000s. The cancellation leaves fans without a live performance of the new material scheduled for the near future. The November 10 show at Coca-Cola Roxy was the only date in the Atlanta metro area on the list.
