A man convicted of murder is on the run in Tennessee.
Authorities raised the reward for information leading to his arrest to $15,000 on Wednesday afternoon.
The previous offer stood at $2,500. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee’s office and the U.S. Marshals Service increased the amount as the search continued.
Jacob Allen Morley, 28, was serving a life sentence at the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville. Staff noticed he was missing around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
Security footage showed him breaching the perimeter fence while still wearing his prison uniform. He was recorded stealing a white 2008 Ford F-350 around 1 a.m. Monday. The truck, marked for Lindamood Planting Company and carrying an air compressor, was found abandoned in Marion, Illinois, early Tuesday morning.
Morley was convicted of first-degree murder, aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence, evading arrest, and vandalism. Police added him to the Tennessee Most Wanted list and warned he should be considered dangerous. They advised the public not to attempt to apprehend him.
Morley is 6 feet tall or slightly shorter and weighs between 240 and 270 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes. People with information can call 1-844-832-3463 or 911.
