Lucy Parkinson learned her true family history this week.

Christina Boyd has kept her identity as Lucy's biological grandmother a secret for years. She had given her daughter Rachel up for adoption when Rachel was an infant. Christina kept a photograph of Rachel attached to a keyring. The image fell from the keyring and landed in Lucy's view during a conversation. This accidental drop broke the cover of Christina's long-held secret.

Christina made a separate discovery shortly before the photo fell. She watched a video clip on Lucy's phone. The clip showed Rachel's husband, Richie, whispering to Rachel. Christina saw Rachel's expression change. She told George Shuttleworth that Richie's behavior reminded her of Todd Grimshaw during his trial. Christina stated that she is certain Richie killed Rachel. George advised Christina to let the police handle the investigation. Christina did not agree to wait. She wrote a letter to Richie asking to visit him in prison. She wants to determine his character before the case concludes.

Daniel Osbourne received approval from the Gazette to publish his article. He shared the news with his family. Ken was happy for Daniel. Adam and Alya Nazir hid their guilt about the situation. Idris overheard Carla Connor-Swain and Lisa discussing a meeting at the hotel. Carla and Michael Bailey were pleased with the meeting's progress. Idris saw a chance to act when the client left the room. Marco Rhodes downplayed a cut on his arm. Gary Windass suspected the injury was worse. Summer Spellman visited Marco and found him refusing to leave his cell. Gary worried that Marco faced bullying inside the facility. Maria Connor asked Gary to stay out of the situation. Ross Wilkes told Summer he would watch over Marco. Ross arranged a cleaning job for Marco to keep him busy. Ross later found Marco alone in his cell and spoke with him.

These events unfold in the upcoming episode airing on Monday, November 2.
