Jennifer Affleck, 27, filed for divorce from her husband Zac Affleck in Utah this week. The couple has been married for seven years and is expecting their fourth child together. Court documents obtained by ABC News on Wednesday show the filing was made in the Fourth Judicial District Court in Provo.

Jen Affleck, who is known professionally by her first name, rose to prominence through social media content focused on her life as a young mother in Utah. She was part of a viral group of influencers known as MomTok. In 2024, Hulu cast her in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, a docuseries that examined the relationships within that influencer group. The show documented various tensions in her marriage, including a brief separation that occurred after the first season aired.

The Affleck family met in 2018 on Mutual, a dating application used by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jen was 18 and Zac was 21 at the time. They married the following year and have three children: Nora, Luca, and Penelope. Their separation became a central storyline in the second season of the series. During that time, Jen discovered she was pregnant with their third child.

The couple continued to appear together on the show through its fifth season. Zac Affleck also supported Jen publicly during her appearance on season 34 of Dancing with the Stars, attending events and posting about her progress on social media. Despite the recent legal filing, Jen Affleck is scheduled to appear in an upcoming spinoff series. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County premieres on Hulu on November 12.

In a 2024 Instagram post, Jen Affleck reflected on the challenges of her early marriage. She wrote that they were young and inexperienced when they said their vows. She noted that they often did not see eye to eye but believed they had lessons to learn from one another. She described Zac as supportive and believed in her more than anyone else, even while acknowledging his flaws.

ABC News reached out to representatives for Jen Affleck for comment on the filing. Disney, the parent company of both ABC News and Hulu, owns the platforms where the Afflecks’ stories have been widely shared. The filing marks a new chapter for the family as they prepare for the birth of their newest child.
